Rakuten baseball player, Yuji Yoshioka gave a baseball lesson in Iwaki

A former Giants – Rakuten baseball player, Yuji Yoshioka gave a baseball lesson in Iwaki. Mr. Yoshioka is well known from a baseball TV show hosted by famous Japanese entertainers, “Tunnels”. We were blessed with the weather for January that day. We didn’t expect to see many children, but 70-80 children gathered for the lesson. It was such a lively and fun lesson. Mr. Yoshioka taught children the basics of catching, batting, defending, and pitching all by himself from 9AM to 3PM.

Mr. Yoshioka’s fun demeanor helped the children relax, and they all enjoyed the lesson. We had a question session at the end. However, nobody raised their hands. I wished that the children weren’t so shy because I didn’t want them to miss out on such a great opportunity.

So, we called on each child, and they bashfully asked a question. The baseball lesson concluded well with no injuries or problems. Since the beginning of this year, Mr. Yoshioka has been directing a baseball team, Toyama Thunderbirds, in an independent league.
